What is Book Club Net?
Book Club Net is a Web service that helps you run a book club and is provided free of charge.
It allows you to keep a record of your previously read books (book title, author, ratings and comments).
You can maintain the list of the future readings (title and author).
Provides a feature for scheduling future meetings (date, time, book, host, comment) and keeping record of the past meetings (date, book, host, comment).
Enables you to send messages to all book club members and keep all book club messages in one place.
Sign up
1. In order to sign up you must first read and accept the Terms and the Privacy Policy .
2. We need your valid e-mail address to process your sing up request. Your e-mail address will be used to send you a confirmation. We do this to prevent automated signing up. It is not required that you provide us with your name.
3. Once you receive a confirmation e-mail follow the link from within the message. Enter your e-mail address, and the confirmation code from the message. This will complete you sign up process.
I forgot my password
Go to I forgot my password.
How do I change my password?
Go to My Account.
If you have forgotten your password go to I forgot my password.
The length of password
Password must be between 4 and 8 characters long (inclusive).
How do I change my e-mail and name?
Go to My Account.
'Remember me' option
If you check 'Remember me' option Book Club Net will remember your username and password on your current computer. Next time you login from that computer you don't have to type your username and password.
This option should not be used when logging in from a public access computer.
In order for this feature to work your browser must be set to accept cookies.
Book club type
There are three ways to set up a book club:
1. Closed - only book club members have access to the book club.
2. Share with friends - certain parts of the book club a visible to the friends.
3. Public/open to anyone - parts of the book club are visible to anyone.
The parts that are visible in types 2. and 3. above are the following: book club name, description, meet type, state/province, city, country, the list of all previously read books (title and author), along with book club ratings and members' ratings and comments (member name is not visible), the list of the future books (title and author). Meetings and messages are not visible.
Book Club meet type
Information about where does book club meet: at member's home, library, restaurant, online or other.
What is meet online type?
It is a book club for people who wish to discuss the books online and don't meet in person.
What is a book club friend?
Book club friend can view the following: book club name, description, meet type, state/province, city, country, the list of all previously read books (title and author), along with book club ratings and members' ratings and comments (member name is not visible), the list of the future books (title and author). Meetings and messages are not visible. A friend does not receive messages sent through Book Club Net message feature. A friend cannot add, update or delete any of the book club settings or content.
Start a new book club
To start a new book club go to My Book Clubs, from My Account. Fields marked with *(asterisk) are required fields. Click Save. Once you've created a new book club, go to book club profile to invite members.
Can I be a member of more than one book club?
Yes.
Update book club settings
From My Account go to My Book Clubs, choose a book club you wish to update, change settings click Save.
Join book club
To join an existing book club you need an invitation from a book club member. Once you've received an invitational e-mail go to My Book Clubs into 'I have an invitation to join a book club' and enter a code from the invitational e-mail message. Click Continue.
Become a friend of a book club
To become a friend of an existing book club you need an invitation from a book club member. Once you've received an invitational e-mail go to My Book Clubs into 'I have an invitation to become a friend of a book club' and enter a code from the invitational e-mail message. Click Continue.
Invite a new member
Go to your Book Club Profile (from My Book Clubs choose a book club), enter a new member's e-mail address. Click Continue. An invitational e-mail will be sent.
Invite a friend
Go to your Book Club Profile (from My Book Clubs choose a book club), enter your friend's e-mail address. Click Continue. An invitational e-mail will be sent to your friend.
Remove a member
Go to Book Club profile, choose a member to remove. Click Remove. This will remove a member from the book club and send an e-mail to the member with notification.
Remove a friend
Go to Book Club Profile, choose a friend to remove. Click Remove. This will remove a friend from the book club and send an e-mail to the friend with notification.
Remove yourself from a book club
Go to My Account, to 'Remove me' section. Choose a book club you don't want to be a member anymore. Click Remove.
Remove yourself as a friend of a book club
Go to My Account, to 'Remove me' section. Choose a book club you don't want to be a friend anymore. Click Remove.
Disable your account, remove yourself from Book Club Net

Create, update my ratings and comments
Go to My Account, My Ratings section.
To create new rating or comment choose a book, enter rating and comment. Click Save.
To update an existing rating or comment click on icon 'E' in the list of the ratings. This will fill out the details in 'Ratings and Comments' section. Make changes. Click Save.
Book club members
Go to Book Club Profile. All book club members (by username) are listed here.
Book club friends
Go to Book Club Profile. All book club friends (by username) are listed here.
My book clubs
Go to My Book Clubs. Book clubs you are a member of are listed there. Book clubs you have friend privileges are listed there too.
Add, update, delete previous books
From Book Club Profile, go to Previous Books.
To add a new book to the list of the previous books go to 'Add to the previous books' section. Enter title, author and rating. Click Add.
To update an existing book in the list of the previous books click on icon 'E' next to book title in the list. This will fill out title, author and rating in the update section. Make changes. Click Update.
To delete a book from the previous books click on delete icon next to book title.
Add, update, delete suggested books
From Book Club Profile, go to Suggested books.
To add a new book to the list of the suggested books go to 'Add to the suggested books' section. Enter title and author. Click Add.
To update an existing book in the list of the suggested books click on icon 'E' next to book title in the list. This will fill out title and author in the update section. Make changes. Click Update.
To delete a book from the suggested books click on delete icon next to book title.
Send a message
From Book Club Profile go to Messages. Type in subject and text of the message. Click Send. This will send an e-mail message to all book club members. This message will be saved in the list of the book club messages.
View messages
From Book Club Profile go to Messages. All book club messages are displayed there one line per message. To view the whole message click on the message.
Book, update and view meetings
From Book Club Profile go to Meetings. All book club meetings are shown there. Meetings are divided into the past and future meetings depending on the date of the meeting.
To book a new meeting go to 'Book a new meeting' section. Choose date, time, book title, and comment. If a book club meet type is 'meets at member's home' an option to choose a host from all book club members is offered. Click Book.
To update an existing meeting click on icon 'E'. This will fill out details in update section. Make changes. Click Update.
To delete meeting click on delete icon.
Upload image
You may choose to upload an image for display above your book club settings. Image is a file of either JPEG or GIF type, size up to 160Kb, dimensions up to 900x280px. We attempt to place your image within 48 hours.
Remove uploaded image
Once you upload your image there is option to remove it. Go to your Book Club Profile. Check option 'Remove an existing picture' and click Save.

Book Club Net uses JavaScript. In order to use Book Club Net enable JavaScript in your browser.
